I'd check Craigslist etc. It's not like they go bad. In fact, put a WTB ad here, with all the people moving out I doubt many are taking theirs with them.

I get what people are saying but weights can indeed start rusting and it becomes a mess. The YMCA had an issue recently with people wiping everything down all the time and the weights/bars had all kinds of surface rust. It becomes a safety issue when the weights won't slide on the bar because of the rough surface.

    Used weights aren't that cheap.

Knock surface rust down with steelwool and Kroil. Wipe clean and apply Eezox.

Good find, glad to see those back in stock. Pre Covid price was $250 but that’s still a better deal than for a 300 lb Olympic set with bar than anything you’ll find on Craigslist.

I got a 300 pound set from York a few months back.

Also got 4 45# plates from Play-it-again sports in Westminster. They are Biggins brand, made in USA and nicely machined. The symbol on them is two boobs, lol

Why is this in the “Preppers” sub-forum?

If you have to ask, you don’t need them to prepare. They were a critical prep item for a lot of us when the gyms shut down during Covid. Had to build up my own home gym.

I have never seen used oly plates anywhere near that cheap but I’d stock up bigly at that price.

Historically that's always been the price and I've been lifting since 2000. Perhaps that has changed pre-covid, I know during covid prices skyrocketed
