Does anyone here know of a public range in Western PA? Somewhere between Pittsburgh and Erie along 79 would be nice.
Basically the weekend of Oct 18th (yes, the big shoot weekend) I am going to see old college buddies up that way. A couple w/ a new kid has expressed interest in getting a firearm for HD. I said I could bring a few so they can get a feel of the calibers (probably won't give the wife the S&W 500
).
So anyway, would be nice to take them to a range to fire off some rounds. The guy found a public range that is part of the state game lands, however it is obviously geared towards hunters getting ready for the fall. They have a limit of 3 rds in a rifle and 6 rds in a handgun at a time. That way someone doesn't monopolize the range and prevent people from routinely going downrange to look at their targets. (don't they use spotting scopes up there?!).
