Lancaster won't issue permit

I got my PA permit in Gettysburg about 4 years ago. They never asked for my new MD permit after I renewed my MD permit.

But, I’ve had many friends get that phone call to send PA a copy of their new MD permit or surrender their PA permit.

Good point! I forget what does NH gives you outside of NH and PA over Utah.
If I’m not mistaken New Hampshire is $100 for 5yrs done via snail mail?

I believe that's right. I had a NH at one point. Let it lapse, as usual.

100 bucks. Mine actually doesnt expire until 5 1/2 yrs. Form found online, just fill out, send with check. Got mine in couple weeks. Easy peasy....

I forgot the diff between NH and Utah right off hand but its easy to find out.

I used York County for my PA permit. About a month before my MD permit was to expire they sent an email or a letter reminding me to send a copy of my new MD permit. Sent copy of new permit via email, no sweat.

That works but in my brothers case , MSP delayed getting new permit . And when we called them they are rude , not there problem .

I don't like them in Permits to be honest , they are cocky and really could care less IMHO .

My Maryland permit expired prior to a new one being issued. I called Adams County, and was told PA was good till it expired. Only have to have a MD to get it, not retain it.

York Co Sheriff's Department is great no hassle permits but don't let your MD permit they have on file expire. You will get a nasty letter and a stern talking to if you don't forward renewal permit copy. I learned that the hard way. Chris

Went back to Delaware county in 2016 to renew after many years of having a PA permit. They took my money and picture and told me I was good to go.
Two weeks later got a check and a note that the new sherrif didn't want to issue to Marylanders. So I did the same and got a New Hampshire non res. I figure with the day it took to go up there with time, gas, food and the delaware application it is cheaper to get New Hampshire and not deal with them.

Just to update - I got my MD renewal in the mail and my PA is still valid. Called Bedford Co. Sheriff and they said no update necessary until I renew my permit with them. They do not need to see my MD updated info right away.

MSP licensing division must run the York county sheriff's office, as someone said.
