The NFA is what defines a MG - and all the other NFA toys. If NFA was done away with, then nothing would qualify as being NFA, since NFA didn't exist anymore.

The Huges Amen. banned a specific type of NFA device. No NFA, no NFA devices anymore.

Therefore, MG's would be good to go.

Basically in the most simple terms, the 86 ban defunded the Machingun Portion of the NFA for Individuals only.

Properly Licensed Agencies and Manufacturers can still produce Machineguns.

Thanks to both for the clarification. I knew that NFA defined a machinegun and created the tax stamp system, but I didn't realize that the Hughes Amendment was written specifically with NFA language.

boy, I sure enjoyed being forced to create an account on the white house website when my wife informed me just today that Barry is "friending" people on Facebook automatically (I guess when you post something there...) and you can't "unfriend" him!! :mad54:

but, I know for any petition that's worth anything, they need to be able to prove that real people are signing.
