The suggested 1/2 oz load and 40grains of powder, that should be fine for the hand right?

Curious how the load/shot is packed in a ML shotgun.

I don't have that BP shotgun but I do have a repro LeMat. (has a 20ga 6" shotgun barrel in the center) When I pack the BP barrel I usually do powder and shot packed in with a cotton ball slathered with borebutter or crisco

Seems to work. Haven't blown my hand off yet.

I used to shoot trap with the Marriottsville Muzzle Loaders at AGC years ago. You load by putting @50 gns of F or FF powder, then an over powder wad, then pour an ounce of shot and then put an over shot wad, cap it and let 'er fly.

The AGC, American Gun Craft, model can be loaded the same way or with a 1oz slug and its attached plastic wad. I have watched videos of people shooting loads up to 125gns of BP in this thing. I think that the 8 inch version would be a fine loaded up with one barrel with slug and the other with a 11/4 of #4 buckshot.

BTW, I watched several videos of the six inch version being shot and the accuracy was damn good at 10 yards with #4 buck and slug.

I have the Diablo. If I were to do it again, I'd get the 20ga Desperado.

They desperately need to make or commission better grips.
