In December, we saw one crossing the marsh on the snow in Dorchester County down south of Blackwater, near Bishops Head. Several people have seen them in the area.

They have been here in Montgomery County decades now. They usually come out very late at night say 11 and the wee hours of the morning. I have seen them numerous times. One time last year we had one off in the distance following me while walking one of the dogs a labrador to be exact. When I noticed him I turned around he looked at me and vanished. Another time we were coming back at 2 a.m. from a dinner party one crossed in front of us behind Shady Grove Hospital. He blew across six Lanes like a ghost he was huge much larger than the Western coyote which I have seen numerous times in Colorado. A deer was hit last year and then dragged that night way back Into the Woods say 300 yards. Significant eating taking place in less than 12 hours. We are in Montgomery County we have bear here and we do have the mountain lion better known as a puma two confirmed sightings in Upper Montgomery County near Potomac River. I saw one chasing the deer 3 years ago near Bells Mill Road outside of Olney Maryland. DNR knows they exist but does not want to freak everyone out. They are very solitary only come out at night into the very early morning hours. Therefore ghosts do exist and they move fast. There was a coyote bounty in Virginia but that was done away with as it was unsuccessful. Virginia is having issues with deer populations due to the fact that the coyotes are praying on the fawns in springtime. Either way our wild populations are on the move and prospering.

We got stalked one time muskrattin near worlds end creek but it turned out to be Mr Bradford checking out his line.
He lit up his pipe that was worn to a nub, and asked why the hell we were so daft to wear socks in our waders. Said he could tell by the tracks we left last time we were through.
My buddy John has a big cat on his property in Harmony. DNR told him not to tell anybody but they know where its at all the time because its chipped. Some sort of ongoing morality study or something.
He see's it from time to time repairing the net that protects his chickens from fox.

I live down near Hoopers Island. I can confirm I've got a few that cross my back yard regularly, and are always just out of line of sight when I can get a rifle in hand. I've seen several out at Blackwater as well.

It's been a few years, but I had one roaming around my yard on the Miles River in the middle of the day that looked rabid and mangy. Ran inside to get my gun and he vanished.

Funny I don't hear 'em here like I do on my farm in Tennessee (neighbor of mine goes out with night vision gear occasionally and a suppressed .223 on my property to hunt them over bait), but I HAVE seen them here since at least the late 1990s.

Growing up in California between central coast and SoCal, I know what they look and sound like. Last one I saw on my street was about a year ago and I'm in the heart of MoCo.

Just wish there were more, the feral "Trap-Neuter-Release" cat population is like effing LICE around here, I could use some help.

I missed a nice one sika deer hunting right behind Mr Bradshaw's in Golden Hill a few years back. Before he had all that cut off.
It popped out right in front of me and when I figured out what the hell it was and shot I missed with a rifle. About 25 feet. He ran over to where I could see across the line and curled right up at the base of a big bull pine slick as could be. I got another shot missed, and he took off to the marsh.
There's a bunch of them around Vienna, I started seeing them in about 95 I guess. First one was right next to Weston farms in a gut about 0730.
Every once in a while Ill see a trail cam picture that has one on it. Centennial Rd. Reeds Grove and all that.
My buddy used to find them with a siren late at night, now he has a howler to see where they're at. Seems like they roam and do not stay in one place for an extended period of time.

I am in Rising Sun and have caught them on trail cameras as well. I have also never seen a rabbit or small animal on my property other than groundhogs. They are around.

We have just about zero small ground animals, barely any squirrels, no rabbits that I've seen in 6 months. I'm up across from the quarry off of Red Toad.

Seen one deer hunting a few weeks ago- Mardela Springs. They've been down below Vienna for years. Missed one twice in Golden Hill about 5 years ago, thought it was a shepherd when I first seen it. It was trailing some deer that came through heading into the marsh. Once it became daylight, it popped out right in front of me.

First shot I hesitated because I thought it was a damn dog at first, then it ran off about nearly as far as I could see and laid right up next to the base of a big old bull pine. Curled up like a cat real slick. Once I picked it out I rushed the shot again and missed.

I was out hunting in the morning of the 31st trying to sneak a dear on the last day of deer season and at about 80 yards out a coyote walked out took a quick bathroom break and scurried away. At first I thought it was a husky(there has been one loose in my area in the last year) but its snout looked a bit different so I thought it might have been a coyote. I checked one of my trail cams and low and behold a healthy coyote. We always knew they were around here and thought we saw some before but had no hard evidence. Even DNR was surprised how big it was and where it was. Ran out and purchased my fur barer license that afternoon. Just when you think hunting season is over it pulls you back in. This was in Salisbury. Is that Eastern shore enough?

I'm not a coyoteologist but that kind of looks like a fox. It might be a coyote but its just a bad picture.

Yote. More than one person has seen it in the area. Just a bad pic from behind. Could be the same one I saw a year and half ago about 7 miles away.

Wow that's an amazing picture. That coyote looks extremely healthy. Usually when I've seen pictures of them they look all scrawny and sickly, this one looks beautiful. Hard to believe they are down in Salisbury.
