I was talking to rj1974 this weekend about my plans to build a 1000 yard capable rifle. Told him what I wanted to do with it, and that I was planning on selling a Colt 901 in 6.5 CM to finance it. A little later he called me and said a buddy of ours had almost exactly what I was planning on having built, and he was interested in trading for the 901. Here she is. Trued Remington 700 receiver. It was barreled by E.R. Shaw in .260 Remington. They did a beautiful job on the action that moves like butter. 1.5 lb Timney trigger. Bell & Carlson Medalist stock. I’m waiting for a lower scope mount to get here, but will top it with a 5.5-22x Nightforce scope. Can’t wait to stretch its legs!

It would be nice to see BradMac show back up on the board. He was big on the 260 for F-class shooting.
Nice rifle you have there Doc.

    Where they send me.
Not a Clitmore so I'm sure it will be worthless..........

Kidding aside, the 260 is a great round, often overlooked today.
IIRC it is also very similar to the .338 Lapua in trajectory. Some of the EU nations would have the 260 as the light option for the .338.

Thank you, sir. Ran it by Brad. He has shot out a couple of .260 barrels. Just had his rifle rebarreled.

I know it mimics the .300 Win Mag.

Now you need to get out to Peacemaker for a Frontier Day to get your dope and then shoot a Long Range Challenge.
Both the Frontier Day (just practice) and the Long Range Challenge have targets anywhere from about 400 to 1,150 yards. It's a freaking blast.

Yes I do. I plan on doing just that.
