You can still carry in your vehicle with ANY state's lisc/permit and step out on foot and open carry, just stay away from Philly. I'm sure I already said this earlier in this thread, but here it is again. I am not sure about open carry in state parks though, but national forests are ok as far as I know, for those who want to go camping and/or hiking. App Trail ok too, though the granola types won't like your open carrying. Too bad on them!

    Hmmm...

Handgunlaw.us specifically says that a permit is required for either method in State Parks, but just says yes for everything else.

Me too. "I can see Pennsylvania from my house"

**** Maryland. I grew up in Indiana, PA, Jimmy Stewart's hometown, and came to Maryland in 1977 via an Army transfer to Fort Meade.

Things were much different then, but Maryland quickly eroded and was overrun with Illegals and Afros and other 3d world castoffs who were lured here by the handouts, voting rights and other social programs that favor nonpapered bums.

OweMalley has taken the state to new depths, the City is out of control, every thing that moves has been taxed and the outlook is grim for those who live in the City, Napless, PG, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Howard and Baltimore counties. You might think that your neighborhood is great, but we in West Laurel experienced our first double homicide 500 meters from my front door on 13May13, as the area continues to crumble.

I cannot qualify for a CCW in Maryland even though I am a retired Army officer, have passed 70 plus NCIS checks, have held a Top Secret Crypto clearance, flew for NSA in Vietnam, twice, and have a super clean record.

However, I will have a Pennsylvania CCW issued by my county of choice Sheriff in a matter of days, once I return to the western part of the state.

Maryland is sliding into the abyss...and could care less. Just wait and see what it looks like in 10 years hence.

Are you planning on moving back or do you know that the sheriff will give you a non resident permit? Very interested as I'm sitting in the Somerset area as I'm typing.

exactly. all these agreements are subject to the whims of a rabid anti.

not worth the risk IMO as long as this AG is allowed to modify agreements based on her whims and her marching orders from Bloomturd.

Granted, anything's possible with someone on Bloomturd's payroll. But I'm thinking if their reciprocity with TX were going anywhere it would have by now. Look how quick this nitwit dropped UT, FL, and stopped giving PA non-res permits to those of us here who aren't politically connected enough to get an MD permit.

Unlike TX, UT and FL are relatively easy to get, particularly for those in her bordering ban states, which was squarely who her decrees were aimed at.

Yeah people said that about Utah. I remember when it was said that Utah was not going away because it was recognized by statute. How wrong we were about that. When Idaho was dropped that should have been a clue.

Get it if you want but with the full realization that she can and probably will modify that agreement in the near future as well.

Sorry I have been out of the loop and tried following this. For the UTAH NR, where does the bill stand in PA for the change? Is there any hope they will go back to UTAH NR or?

I'm not seeing any movement or hearing anything. It's a shame because the GOP has the numbers to ram this through. They're blowing it.

There's also an election coming up, so that may be why they are dragging their feet. Kathleen Kane's term doesn't end until 2017, and the governor's office is beating off (no pun intended) this pornographic email "scandal", so it could be that in the days leading to 11/4 each step ought to be carefully weighed. Purely hypothetical, I know, but hey - it's politics.

I'd think this would be a popular (or at least no one would care) bill everywhere in the state outside Philly.
