'twould be awesome, but yeah , no f'n way. hell va has gone the opposite direction from having one unified set of laws, letting each city/county get as oppressive as they want.

that said, nat'l reciprocity is really the right thing to do. there are enough gun and related laws to follow just going state to state, why not have one unified set. and besides us guys with the ccw's and background checks and fingerprints surely are in the VAST minority regarding crime.

Unless the GOP takes the house AND hits 60 seats in the senate, this is no more viable as a bill this time than it has been in the past. Even when the GOP had both chambers, Chuck Schumer was able to kill it with hardly lifting a finger. We haven’t had the numbers in a very long time and still don’t. This one won’t change without court action.

Even if Republicans had the house, the senate, the scotus and the presidency, republicans are to weak to sign something like this in to law. Their fear of being doxed by the media, riots in the streets and having their character assassinated is far greater than their desire to enforce laws. What Trump’s presidency has shown us is that when it comes to republicans, the emperor has no clothes.

They didn't do it when Trump took office and they had majorities. Sure as hell not going to do it now. I can't even be bothered to sign the petition, probably just an excuse to refresh their email lists.

The simple truth is that EACH State regulates it's own gun laws...

    Reciprocity..?

The States can't even agree on speed limits or anything else...

Merry-Land is just one step behind New York & New Jersey with their gun laws...

Your Merry-Land neighbors voted 65.8% for Biden & the Democrats simply don't want you to carry...

Had the idiots in the GOP really wanted this to pass they would have put this into the Covid 19 relief bill among the other pork barrel spending that was in there. That would be the only viable way a bill of this kind would pass both chambers.

Hell even the NRA does not want this, if we got national reciprocity, national Constitutional carry or Shall issue in every state the NRA would cease to have a reason to exist and lose millions of dollars.

I am convinced no one wants to fix a problem only create more so they can justify their own existence.

Nope this is the Lucy football bill the Republicans use each year.

“We are on your side guys really, it’s those darn Democrats”

They did the same thing 2/3 years ago when they had control of both houses. They waited until the change in the house, then “worked” on it knowing there was zero chance of actually passing.

The 2A is national. Why are my abilities in one state different from another state when the 2A is national? If I have the right to keep and bear arms in one state then I should have the same right to keep and bear arms in another state. This is not like the drivers license where each state issues a drivers license, which is not a right and is not national, and there is reciprocity between the states for recognizing drivers licenses.

Bad analogy. It's not Republicans yanking away the passing of the bill, it's Democrats.

Well, yeah. Because that's literally true.

They did the same thing 2/3 years ago when they had control of both houses. They waited until the change in the house, then “worked” on it knowing there was zero chance of actually passing.

At no point did the GOP have the needed control of the senate. How do people keep not understanding that?
