What powder you using and what's the part#/stock #?
Are you doing anything to the bullets after you drop from the mold?

PM me your address and I'll drop some of the powder I use in the mail to you.

Powder by the Pound "RAL Sky Blue"

These bullets were just water quenched and stored in a plastic container. I had problems with air cooled not sticking also. Humidity dropped to 35% and I left the container open to dry and tried again and it just will not stick.

I know people on here are using powder by the pound because I bought what some people were using. I have an adhesion problem.

What powder are you using? I have chinese red I have not tried also

That is the same powder I am using and it works like Melnics. Try balling up some Cling Wrap plastic and rub it briskly on the plastic container and then shake them up and see what happens. I do that when I am having adhesion problems and it cures it.

Like John said, the black air soft bbs work the best. That’s what I use in several powders that won’t stick well without them. Tried other color air soft bbs and they don’t seem to make the static the black ones do.

I looked at walmart and dicks and even amazon didn't have black airsoft BB's.

The inside of the container is coated well enough and doesn't fall off. The only thing not getting coated is the bullets.

I have the same problem on my first batch and this works for me.Clean the bullets with a solvent (acethone) is what I use but can be mineral spirits or maybe alcohol let them air dry and warm them up a bit.I use my oven at 140f for 3 to 4 minutes just warm is all they need. After that then drop them in your #5 container and shake for a minute or two.

it seems to me that this has been tried before and the powder does not go on a uniformly as when you apply it dry. What is your experience.

While my .45's don't care, since it is a short nose bullet, my 300 BO bullets don't tolerate clumps of paint.

Powder and bullets are completely dry I just warm the bullets a bit that seems to help at least to me with the powder to better stick to the bullets.Without warming the bullets I was having many spots where the powder doesn't cover well or just too light of a coat.

I seem to recall some people posting cleaning bullets before using the Hi-Tek coating.
I had no problems with hi tek sticking, it just flaked off and leaded when shooting.
I can see it cleaning any impurities.
I"m puzzed why he has a problem, he's using the same powder I"m using.

We need to try to eliminate some items as the problem
    Powder
    Bullets
    Plastic mixing
    Location
    Person

hmmm, I want to ship him some bullets and powder I have and do a mix with say the same powder and the same bullets that I send him. If he tries the same powder and bullet combo, and it does not stick, we know its something else.

Archery, I PM'd you for address to mail the stuff.

Good. #2 son wanted to go to the ocean but apps showed it was going to be big rollers. Never Trust the APP. We struck out at flounder for an hour amist the many other boats then crossed the inlet and decided to peek out. Once we got out there the waves were 4ft seperated y over 20ft! 30mph our and 40mph back. Time was short (I had to get back for daughter's try outs) so only fished for an hour and a half but we got dinner! He got the biggest sea bass at 15.5"

Powder - I have only used RAL Sky Blue from Powder by the Pound

Bullets - Cast from am NOE mold, 183 grain 30 caliblers, WW hardness and water quenched. Same problem with pure lead 45 cast from a lee mold though.

Plastic mixing - #5 container. I did make a separate pvc tube for the HF tumbler for powder but have not used it yet.

Location - I tried my garage, too damp. Basment, dryer but still 50% and last round I did at the kitchen island, While momma was at work.

Person - Just this lost cause , it seems

I have not had the time to try wiping the sides down with cling wrap and I do not have acetone. I can get some, but what do you wash them in and lay on to dry? As spoken before I get a clumpy, spotty adhesion. Some places it sticks and won;t come off and most other places it just will not stick period.

When I had to clean some bullets coated with ALOX, I put them in a pickel jar and poured acetone on them. After shaking for about five minutes, I poured them out over a kitched strainer into another jar. Just leave the bullets on a piece of aluminum foil and the acetone will evaporate.

I probably don't have to say this but, 1, don't do this in the house, and 2, don't do it near any ignition source. Acetone's flash point is -4*F. :nono:

I have found good success with Eastwood Cadillac blue and a country crock container. Swirl & shake very aggressively for about 4-5 min, can get winded a little, shake out onto wire mesh then into preheated 400 deg oven for 20 min

I have been doing heavy swirling and some up and down banging, but not a lot.

To be honest, I understand it might nt be perfect trying new things, but this has been like breaking your leg trying to learn how to run. I have a hard time figuring out how I screwed this up so badly. :)

Everyone has different capabilities. My friends don't let me near a bow and arrow unless I give them a deposit for lost arrows in advance.
