    Email from MSI:

On June 16, 2021, we filed an emergency motion for partial summary judgment on three of our counts against Montgomery County's enactment of Bill 4-21. The motion seeks to enjoin the County from enforcing their new illegal laws which will go into effect on July 16th without action from the Court. Find the motion HERE and the memorandum in support HERE. As we have stated previously, we will not sit idle while politicians make criminals of ordinary and law-abiding residents. You can learn more and find updates about this case at tinyurl.com/msivmoco.

Taking these challenges is not possible without your support! Consider becoming a member of MSI, donating, or wearing MSI apparel or picking up our accessories.

Meanwhile, the State has filed a notice of appeal in Hulbert v. Pope, not at all happy that Sgt. Pope was stripped of qualified immunity and that the case will proceed to trial for the unlawful arrest of Jeff and Kevin Hulbert. Furthermore, MSI v. Hogan, the HQL litigation, is fully briefed before the federal District Court in Baltimore and the parties are awaiting further action from the judge. Call v. Jones, the case against Maryland's handgun carry ban, is being held in the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit pending the outcome of New York State Rifle and Pistol Assoc. v. Corlett, which will likely be scheduled for oral argument this October or November at the US Supreme Court. A ruling in that potentially game-changing case wouldn't be expected until late next June.

We're excited to announce that the MSI Annual meeting will be in-person on September 18th, 2021. Information on location and more will be forthcoming. In the meantime, stop by our booth and say hello to us at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA this weekend!

Just received the following in an email. If the county did this crap to bypass a court case, then the bill should be moot until a challenge has been made, correct? Just another " we have all the money and you cannot afford to fight our draconian laws".

As many of you know, MSI filed a challenge in Montgomery County Circuit Court against the County's illegal enactment of Bill 4-21 which, among other things, criminalizes the possession of homemade firearms ("ghost guns"), common gun parts, bans businesses from having armed employees who lack Maryland Wear and Carry Permits, and expands the definition of "public place" to essentially reach within every home in the county. A hearing was set on our motion to enjoin enforcement of the new laws on 7/15, however, the County had the case moved to federal district court earlier this week. Therefore, the Circuit court no longer has jurisdiction and thus, there will be no hearing. Bill 4-21 will become effective on Friday, July 16th, imperiling every gun owner who passes through the county.

I just got this email as well. This is a perfect example of government over stepping their role. One more reason to want to move out of Maryland or at the very least out of the county.

At some point you are going to have to stop, turn and fight.
The leftist crap is creeping into everywhere, You are not going to be able to run from it forever. It is blossoming up in WVA, GA, etc, and now most Western States have hardcore leftist strongholds, small areas, but strongholds.
Look at VA,, gone. who would of thought 10 years ago?

If you dont take them on now and here,, and just keep running from them,, your kids and grand kids will have to deal with them.

I don’t think Va has changed much since 2011

Two years and one month so far, and we're still being tossed back and forth by the County, the State and the Courts, both MD and Federal.

Anyone still believe that the legal system is not loaded against the out-of-favor minorities?

Equal justice for all, my ass.

The national socialist gun grabbers need to avoid a final decision more than anything else. A final decision could be appealed to a legitimate court.
