To save some useless experimentation, I am trying to see if anyone has done this before.

Do you think I can get my CMMG Banshee with a can to run subsonic 125gn bullets? I have done searches and found people using 135 to 150 gn bullets but haven't seen too much on 125's. Does that mean it 1) isn't worth the hassle or 2) it can't be done?

It will depend a lot on barrel length.

I personally have not, but have been thinking along this same line...

I've mentioned before but my ruger PCC charger will cycle 115 and 124 subs using Clays.
The recipes from Hodgdon work and the longer barrels still don't break the sound barrier

My Banshee 300 barrel length is 5 inches. I had considered buying a 8 inch upper but that would set me back $775. They won't sell the barrel without the BCA and that is $400.

Worst comes to worst, I will spring for a couple of MP six cavity molds for 147-150 grain bullets.

Plenty of offerings on the Hodgdon site. This just a sampling...

I load plated 124s over CFE pistol to about 1025FPS(minor PF competition load) from a 5", still subsonic in my 7" but about 50-50 sub/super in my 16" PCCs, runs fine in blowback stuff, but not sure how the RDB system would affect it, might have to cut BCG/buffer weight or use a lighter spring.

Probably have to play with the spring (which is about six inches long) as the buffer is about an 11/2 inch long and I have never seen one so small.

I think I will work up some WW 231 loads from the chart the Clown posted and see if they run as it is now. I have to wait until January to get my can so I wanted to get started planning for it. :D
