While I understand the attitude of "f'em" and let them sweat...I'd much rather those new to firearm ownership receive proper safety and handling instructions and how to shoot...whether for defense or target shooting. There's no need for newbies...whatever their political affiliation and motivation to own a gun...to be unsafe and potentially cause a tragedy within their own homes or elsewhere. Some may find it's not for them...some may find it's an enjoyable pastime and discipline...and hopefully realize that the rest of legitimate gun owners are not the slack-jawed inbreds and nuts they've always been told we are.

This might be a good occasion to teach and convert. I see no point in rejecting potential allies.

    There's a flip side.

There's no need to teach your enemy how to kill you either.

And make no mistake sir. These bastards are enemies.

He goes to Walmart on Monday to purchase. There was a line at the sporting goods counter like everywhere now. He went through the paperwork and background check. Then clerk tells him they are not selling him the rifle because he was looking at his phone (our text thread) during the process. They suspected a straw purchase. Denied.

Was this clerk an ex-Select Fire employee?

I helped a buddy decide on a gun for him and his wife. He’s liberal but very middle of the road, could vote either way in any election.

Looks like you have a job to do before November.

That is, get your buddy a box of ammo and ensure he understands that going to the range is fun and should be kept part of America.

    Where they send me.
F'em. They have shafted us HARD in this state. No quarter now. Maybe 1% or so will get their heads right but the other 99% will go vote for more taxes and regulations in the next election.

I may sell them a beater shotgun worth $150 or so for $1k, but only if I am feeling nice that day.

Take this as a good opportunity to actually try to put on your smiley face and change some hearts and minds.

I realize that there is temptation to stick it to people, but this is not a useful instinct long term. Its counterproductive.

Take the opportunity to walk them through the paperwork, help them as much as possible, then help them get an MSI membership. Help them understand that Moms are only Demanding more counterproductive paperwork that criminals are not following. A lot of people I know have turned into full blown preppers at this point. Take full advantage to persuade people and resist your normal instincts.

And confine your raucous laughter outburst and happy dancing to the back room. :party29:

    This!

Take this opportunity to show gun haters how wrong they are about "how easy it is to get guns"

Use it as a way to get them interested in shooting

Take them to the range (as soon as ammo is affordable) and get them to enjoy it

    Turn their hearts and minds

    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .

However in private....it's okay to enjoy the eff out of how confused these people are and how much they are doubting their tightly held dogma

I dont care how much you try to "change their minds" and "" take a lib shooting " these ****heads are not ever gonna change any of these shit laws this state has. This "Free State" is a liberal hellhole! I'm done. Leaving as soon as possible.

Nobody who has waited until this point to suddenly decide they need a gun, has any business getting one.

There are far too many morons and clowns out there who, without someone to teach them properly, will
most likely injure or shoot themselves, or a loved one.

My guess is that their new gun will sit in the closet unused until their next of kin finds it.

    Potential allies? Really?

These are the same assholes who are actively attempting to legislate your way of life out of existence, using force of law, in favor of their utopian fantasy. And now that they've encountered the honeybadger of the viral world, they're all "OMG I have to protect my fams!"

Fvck them, and the unicorn they rode in on.

And if they could get their guns and still take ours from us, that'd be OK by them.

People who vote (D) are no different than people who vote (R). They think they are voting for the lesser of two evils. They aren't going to suddenly insist on politicians that observe the Constitution and basic civil rights. Look no further than the members here who voted for Hogan.

These people need training - nothing worse than firearms in the hands and homes those who haven’t a clue how to use them.
