With over 50 years of reloading I have a neck stuck in the resizing die even though I lube the case necks.
Any ideas how to remove the stem from the die? It will not pull through.
The expanding ball will not unscrew from the stem.
    Case is LC 30-06.

Lee or RCBS die? Call their customer service line and they will send you a new stem and expanding ball. Or just buy a new die.

I'd ask about the brass inspection prior to sizing, but reloading as long as you have, it is bound to happen to you eventually. You have had a very good run of fortune.

My $.02, and worth what you paid for it.

Find a long bolt whose threads are about .30 and thread it into the broken neck. Then grab the bolt head with vice grips and pull?

First, if it's RCBS I'd call them.

In my younger years I had a stuck case in a die.
I purchased an RCBS set and used it once and never used it again.:)

I thought you cut the case below the shoulder and was able to get the stem and expander out. A tubing cutter or hack saw would work, but I've been using my multi tool more often recently for things I used to use a hack saw for.

I quit using expander balls years ago. I use an M die from Lyman. It is an extra step but I hate having to lube the inside of the case.
