You may be pulling the slide back too far when trying to remove it. It only needs to move back 1/8 - 1/4" when removing. The trigger bar and firing pin lug may also be making contact making it necessary to hold the trigger while releasing the slide.

Hope you get it sorted out.

If you're stuck, you can lock the slide back and remove the cover plate to remove the striker.

I had a lone wolf slide out of spec, they were cool about replacing it.

    Try it a different way...

Point the pistol down. Pull down on the disassembly thingy (that’s the real technical term :lol2: ) and hold it down. Squeeze the trigger. Slide should slip forward, and come off the frame. Sometimes a slight push forward with the 3rd hand (I use my thumb) will help get over where it is catching.

If it won’t come apart with this method, you’ll have to pull the rear plate from the slide and remove the striker.

If this doesn't work, you might have a hang-up where you removed the material(or did't remove enough) with the guide rod.
    What model P80 is this?
