Montana might be a place worth moving to if you are a Republican living in NY/NJ/CA etc to help fortify the state.

IDK, maybe I'm missing something, but this sounds like standard state pre-emption.

A lot of cities in otherwise red states try to pass restrictions on carry.

This measure was introduced as House Bill 357 on January 25, 2019, by Representatives Matt Regier (R-4) and Derek Skees (R-11). It was designed to be sent to voters if an identical bill, House Bill 325, was vetoed by Democratic Governor Steve Bullock.

Seems OK to me, what am I missing?

Montana's infestation of leftys started MANY decades ago with Ted Turner.
Then the rest of the Hollywood crowd,, then their emotional support staff (CA liberals)
This was about the same time the "Lower economic" liberals were infecting Colorado.
Just in the last decade they have turned their sites on WY.

    Prevails by one point..

I see. IDK. I am not sure that means anything. Is this a pro (anti) gun control vote or a pro (anti) local control vote? Hard to say. Imagine for example if counties in MD were allowed to issue carry permits (like CA and NY) instead of the state of MD pre-emtping. I would totally vote to remove state preemption in that case. State pre-emption can go either way depending what you think the state legislature will do.

Legislation looks good to me. Prohibits local governments from passing their own gun prohibitions

Curious- I thought Montana was constitutional carry everywhere outside of city limits. Does this essentially make them constitutional carry or was that just a state law already?
