I plan on keeping this set up for soft ball. I have a pin gun. I always had a thing for one of these ribbed gems.

With its balance I can understand why you like it for pins

When and if you get a chance try it one time, you hit the nail on the head
"balance" it just "feels" natural if you know what I'm trying to explain..

Here's something that I picked up at a local shop in Orlando. As you can see, it appears to have been made by Bond Arms (450 Autobond). Not much on the internet about the pistol. According to Gun Values, it was listed as upcoming in their 2003 catalog but never went into production. The seller had no further information and Bond Arms hasn't responded to my queries.

After some major surgery, new barrel needed, lockwork, flat mainspring housing, and reshaping the grip safety here is the final form. I’ve even stopped debating a beavertail. The green cloth is my high dollar gun sock - a section of a rifle sock with one end sewn shut.

That's pretty danged cool - I don't know if the fact that it's so unique makes it valuable, or if it only makes it unique, but it looks like Bond Arms mainly makes belly guns.

What's the fit and finish like on that?

^^^. I had a new Colt made NM barrel in the parts box. It has found a happy home in this pistol. The original bushing needed to have the I.D. fitted to the barrel. Test fire it today or tomorrow. It now 3.8 pound pull now.

Upper groove fitting contact pads pictured. With impact loading during cycling the contact patch will fill the whole groove. I forgot to photograph the lower lug contact but they turned out virtually ideal.

Here’s some pics using 200 Gr LSWC target reloads and GI TZZ match SWC. One hand bullseye, yep, I am very rusty, 25 yards. Fliers from each group were called. Lots of wiggles and bumps today. Caffeine!

The dollar in the pic is folded to 2” (1/3 fold).

Had a couple incidents of one feed issue. The bottom of the SWC nose would occasionally hang up on the bottom edge of the barrel. It became less frequent but it shouldn’t have done it. I need to move the bottom of the barrel throat forward about .010-.015”. I tend to sneak up on that clearance when the prerequisite .030” minimum isn’t there on the initial fitting. Just the mentality of not removing metal if you don’t need to. No biggie. Then polish the throat ramp itself.

Additionally, the pistol failed to lock open after the last round with the GI match ammo (200 grain stubby swc number) and once with the handloads. I put a 13 pound variable recoil spring in it during reconstruction. Additionally, I installed a very large radius firing pin stop to allow smoother and easier unlocking with the reduced loads. The original builder ground a cammer relief on the hammer face and a bevel on the firing pin stop to facilitate that event. Probably to use the 16 pound recoil spring for reliability. I didn’t shoot this timed or rapid fire but watching the sight on follow through the pistol returned back on target. I’ll drop to a 12 variable pound spring and test the waters again.

Mission accomplished...noticeably smoother feeding. I didn’t have a 12 pound variable spring but did have a conventional one. A full mag of the GI match ammo fed through 6 rounds without hesitation. Now to shoot the bugger again!

I couldn’t keep the barrel and ramp wiped from the oil in the pistol.

Glad it's working out, more range reports
lots of people run 16# springs, got it in one
of the Clark Customs shoots great of course never have any issues
with any of them. Hate to say it, use them as my "reference guns" and
    build on others from that.
You having any lock-up issues?Barrel / slide. Have you got a chance
to replace / test the vari-12# spring (or get one)? would be interesting
to see how H&G's feed and shoot. if it feeds and shoots the Match 220gr.
should feed them with no problems.

Oil tell me about it.... it comes out from everywhere. :):) hands??

I'll be starting on another one soon.. S.S. haven't figured out compact size
    or full size..decisions...decisions
