Not sure if there's a thread, but find a local FFL to you, in Maryland, that will do the transfer. Even better if the FFL will accept the handgun from your buddy directly. Otherwise, your buddy will have to find a VA FFL to send the gun to the MD FFL.

After that, the song-n-dance is the same. When the gun shows up at the local FFL, do the 77R and wait 7 days.

In the meantime - scronge the internet for ammo deals. Sig Sauer seems to have reasonably priced ammo come and go all the time: https://www.sigsauer.com/products/ammunition/

One of the most important thing to remember when buying a handgun in Maryland is to make sure it's on the handgun roster list. If it isn't you can't have it in Maryland unless your FFL is going to jump through hoops for you and try to get it accepted which can take a long time.

Also make sure to have him give you the magazines directly. If he turns in regular capacity magazines to the FFL you are screwed because you aren't going to get them, or if you do they will be pinned.

Make sure you take possession of them OUT OF MARYLINISTAN! Illegal to buy or transfer within state but bringing them back from out of state is no problem. Welcome! Next is your Designated Collectors Letter.

Thanks so much for this info! Right now I'm having a hard time finding mags for my P320, will have to order online and ship them to PA unfortunately.
Just another way that MD fvcks the law abiding gun owner.
There is a gun show this weekend at York Fairgrounds.

    Yup,
Basically MD has a $80-100 tax on SA handguns,,,,, You buy the handgun you want, your MD FFL is forced to dispose of the 2 mags your gun comes with, you spend 1/2 day driving out of state and $80 bucks to buy the mags your gun CAME WITH
