    Wanted your opinions. Especially from those in similar situations. What are the chances of getting a CCW?

    Facts:
    1. Business owner
    2. Three Misdemeanors. All charges were max 1 year sentences
    A. Charge 1: DUI Conviction: DUI
    B. Charge 2: Theft of Services; resisting arrest Comviction: disorderly
    C. Charge 3: Disorderly Conviction: disorderly

    Opinions and any advice appreciated.
    TIA

    My semi-informed guess: zero.

    The conviction of crimes for which the possible max sentence was at least a year is going to prove very problematic for simple possession of firearms, much less obtaining a permit in our fair state. I'm not a lawyer, vaya con Dios, et al.

    Lastly, parenthetically, and tongue in cheek, there's this:

    My guess is you will not be able to obtain a CCW from the information you provided . These are part of the questioning on the forms and interview .

    Probability of 1 = The sun will rise tomorrow;
    Probability of .5 = I flip a coin and it land heads up;
    Probability of 0 = You getting a Wear and Carry Permit.

    I think you would have to have a firm grasp of Quantum Theory to understand the "less than zero" chance you have, but I am not a mathematician.

    Let me rephrase then:

    What would it take for me to get a CCW?

    Expungement of your record, and then a lot of luck convincing the MSP investigator(s) that you don’t have a history of exactly the sort of things they ask about. And multiple references that would swear the same. And, of course, the required good and substantial justification.

    Here is a list of convictions that are eligible for expungement in MD:

    I would get the expungements finalized before you apply, but I can tell you that the DUI isn’t eligible and won’t be going away. I always recommend that people seek counsel for assistance with any court filing, and expungements should not cost much if any of your convictions are eligible.
