I made a belted case (or four), unintentionally. Lucky much?

These are both 350 Legend, out of a new CMMG upper, from the first outing to sight in. I found four out forty like this. Pressure is rated identical to 5.56 so I am feeling lucky this didn’t create a catastrophic failure...

Is that from firing out of battery or an issue with the brass? I'm not up on the 350 legend.

My first M1A experience...Delta Peach Bottom a guy was testing his reloads, let the bolt go on a single round in a mag and BOOM. Hot primers he said. Scared the shit out of me not expecting it.

OOB ? Is something making the firing pin stick?

No, these aren’t happening on chambering. I didn’t even realize I had an OOB (let alone 4) until I picked up my brass. These were commercial rounds, but I will be setting up dies for these later this month.

Absolutely. I had once OOB on chambering a Glock that was unpleasant (and a slamfire on a Beretta 90-two that was bloody awful).

I just happened to see this thread. The only way I can see this happening is if you have a short chamber and excessive headspace. Pretty much of a stretch I agree.

Did you follow up with CMMG?

Not yet. I was focused on getting through Bambi whacking season - and when the season was over I had pay attention to all the parts of my life I neglect during the season. I plan to well in advance of next season!

I did hunt with it, just developed the habit of checking that it was in battery before each shot. Luckily with my FLIR Zeus on top and planning my hunts to carefully have range memorized, the need for more than one shot was rare (only happened when I shot two does traveling together opening day).

I'm considering an AR platform (either CMMG or Ruger) 350 Legend. Just curious what brand ammo/specs is causing hiccups. Thanks

I have a CMMG upper. It is accurate for what it is, but there is this issue above - from a sample size of one. There are several other members who have them and have not reported this sort of experience. I will come back when I get around to pulling the upper apart and report if anything is grossly out of spec - but it will be several months as my deer rifles are back of my mind at the moment.
