I've had it since @ 1987 and have taken care of it but tonight it let go. I was loading 45 Colt and I had just set a primer but I couldn't rotate the carriage. I tried pushing in more but the handle was already hitting the cartridge catcher mount. I had to disassemble the carriage to get the case out and then I noticed that the primer ram wasn't going up far enough.

I pull out the primer thingamajig and check it out and it appears to be ok. Then I start looking at the press. Lo and behold, the fixture at the very bottom of the ram that connects to the handle cracked. I guess I can't bitch about something that has given me 33 years of good service but I'm going to see if I can get a freebee out of Dillon anyway. :D

    Here's some pics.

Dillon will hook it up. 100% guaranteed. You may have to send in the press, and it may cost you something nominal, but I'm betting you get a brand new 550C out of it.

I'm sure they will after they read the sob story about being a 70 year old arthritic. (which happens to be true) :sad20:
Dude! 1987? That thang is older than me!

Well maybe not older than me.
Dillon take care of you.

I broke the handle off my SDB and called them.
Got a new part in the mail no questions asked.

They cost more up front so stuff like this is covered by their warranty.

No B.S. Warranty means just that

Call Dillon and given the age of your 550, they'll probably tell you to ship the whole thing for an overhaul and tuneup. Plus you're a Veteran and given the timing, you will get some extra attention from them this week.

If this was 1960, a company may well do something like that. However, this is 2020 and people just don't give a damn anymore. Politicians have convinced their ilk that people have short memories and, with the current crop of sheeple, it is pretty much the truth.
