Other than purely Safety PPE concerns , wear or don't wear whatever you wish . Heck , switch it up to have fun , and keep it interesting .

But whether at the nude beach , -10 deg hunting blind , or full dress Mil Sim , the fundamentals are the same :

    Good Trigger Control
    Sufficiently adaquate sighting
    Kinda ok stance

In that order of importance .

    Only Hits count
Style Points only matter while cutting up with your buddies during friendly competition in safe environment .

The targets don't care if I'm wearing pointy boots and Stetson , blaze orange , or Speedo, only where the bullets land .

I agree. Train with the gear you plan to use and wear.

training with gear is not a bad thing and a lot of ppl do it. Go to a 3 gun match ppl show up wearing all sorts of gear.

tbf, you should train for all sorts of scenarios. someone busts into my place, i doubt i will have time for gear.

Too many do not seem to understand the rear sight on an AR.

The apertures are centered at different heights! The large is marked 0-200 and is intended for fast target acquisition and closer ranges. The small is for zeroing and targets beyond 200 yards. Most flip-up rear sights must be set on the large aperture to fold, which makes the shooter ready for threats immediately upon deploying the BUISs.

Always sight-in using the smaller aperture. It is also the best choice when shot placement is critical.

    25 yard zero is on @ 300.

    50 yard zero is on @ 200.
