I could stand to meet up with you at Bass pro some time to check a Glock clone barrel and a new Form 1 can. 9mm of course

Depending on shipping time, I just ordered a 9mm rod from McM/Carr. I could bring it along when we meet up...;)

    John,

There is no way to leave you a positive score here, but I want to thank you for the alignment rod. This all was very generous of you, and I appreciate you meeting me today.

For anyone else reading it, John refused to take anything for it when I offered. I am pretty touched by the generosity to a total stranger.

    Thanks again John!

    Not in but very generous.

I bought a Geissele Alignment Rod after suffering a severe baffle(s) strike on a suppressed AR.

Take it from me, you want to check alignment before you shoot your suppressor. Never made that mistake again.

The barrel was a BCA….. threads turned out to be non concentric.

I ordered my fist can august of 2020. It’s a Surefire SOCOM 300 blackout can. Tax stamp cashed 1/11/2021. It should be out of stamp jail any day now. I’ve put QD muzzle devices on 3 rifles…300 Blackout pistol, .308 AR .308 and my .223 Wilde. I would love to have a .30cal alignment rod if any are left. Please and thank you

Besides the two .30 cal rifles do you think I need to worry about using an alignment rod when putting the .30 can on my .223?

    BTW
I am also building a form 1 30cal can but will drill the holes out to work with 350 Legend
Would the 9mm rod be good for that?
It’s my dads gun and he is on my trust

I now have my can and alignment rod (thank you again) and have a follow up question. When I used the rod on my AR .308 it was a good fit and centered perfectly.

When I used it on my 300Blk pistol the fit was much looser to the point that it wobbled in the bore enough to contact the endcap of the can. It seemed to be able to contact evenly when I rolled the upper on different sides. I noticed from the chart posted above that the recommended rod for a 30 cal is a different size than this…is there someone who would be willing to look at what I have and offer advice? I live in Severna Park close to the community college. After 15 months wait I don’t want to damage this thing first time out!

Try holding the barrel as perfectly vertical as you can and see where the rod comes to rest.

Also, if there is a decent amount of gap between the can and the rod, you're probably OK.

How short is your barrel on the AR pistol? If you barrel is extremely short, you could get some flex. Do the above^ but also try opening the bolt to get the rod further into the barrel.

it's a 10" barrel. I"ve been looking at this again this morning. I'm now thinking that it is not concentric and concerned that I need a professional to help. this upper is a BRN180s that doesn't have a traditional shoulder on the barrel but instead has a jam nut that tightens to a slotted washer. can someone recommend a gunsmith who could help me with this..preferably one I don't have to wait several months to see. thanks

here's the video on how it's done

a pic of the muzzle device at the end of the barrel would help, but yeah it sounds like the suppressor is not aligned for some reason. thats what these are for! I cant speak to smiths any down by annapolis. You might just need to remove whatever the fVck is on the end and go direct thread or something.r

yes, that's exactly what I have...I tightened the nut down against the C clip washer shown in his right hand above, then used the nut as a shoulder to tighten the muzzle device against. I installed the muzzle device with shims to clock it properly, torqued to spec.
I"m wondering if I should remove the shims and try it again or maybe try flipping the C clip over or orienting it differently
