One of the names I've seen bandied about is Will Jawando from MoCo. He would make us wistful for the days of Brian Frosh.

I wonder whether Craig Wolf is interested. Without an incumbent, he might be competitive. Any others?

Any chance of it being Vanessa Atterbeary? She's rabidly antigun, extremely woke, and is vice chair of the judiciary committee.

    From the article:
His decision not to run will set off a scramble among Democrats interested in the post.

Sen. William C. Smith Jr. (D-Montgomery), the current chairman of Judicial Proceedings, is expected to enter the race.

U.S. Rep. Anthony G. Brown (D-Md.) is also likely to consider a bid, particularly as odds grow that Democrats will lose the House of Representatives next year.

Montgomery County Sen. Brian Feldman (D), a former attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, may also consider a run.

And Gaithersburg City Councilmember Ryan Spiegel, a Democrat, has also told associates he plans to explore a bid for AG.

Montgomery County attorney James Shalleck, a Republican, launched a bid for the GOP nomination in July. The Republican nominee would face long odds next November even with Frosh out of the race, due to the Democrats’ lopsided voter registration advantage.

I'm sure The Mighty Midget will send him checks until he can line up a Chipman-like job at some Gun Grabber Lobby outfit.

Or he sees the writing on the wall with the New York case before SCOTUS and must have a good reason clause to get a ccw in MD going up in smoke and he does not want to be around when that happens..

Knowing the depths of his psychosis, I doubt he cares about that at all.
