Question Let's Talk Drop In Triggers...

...for PCCs. I've got a couple PCC builds in the works and I want to go with a drop in trigger group. I haven't decided a preference for single stage -v- two stage so I am open to any and all suggestions. These will not be 'race' guns, per se. More likely HD and range shooting, but don't let that deter your recommendations.

I only have 1 drop in trigger. All my other ones are Larue or Geisselle. The drop in is a CMC flat face that I use in my 10.5” pistol build that has around 4,000 rounds through it and I really like it. No complaints at all.

I have a dozen drop ins from Rise Armaments. They usually go on sale for under $100 and there's various models
with features that add a few $...

PCC AR's are extremely hard on triggers. I see them destroy drop in triggers often.

I have a Geiselle SSA-E in one and B-GRF in another. Work great. LaRue MBTs are built like tanks.

I have heard that but don’t know anyone with personal experience. I have drop ins on all my ARs. Timney , rise , cmc and have never had a problem with any of them and the price range was 280 to 80. But my 9mm rifle and pistol have yet to get triggers. So I’m hoping someone gives more info on the drop ins on this use
Thanks

My only experience with drop in triggers are with a Timney Impact and 2 Rise Armament Rave140's.

Something to note is that the Rave140 is the "gen 2" of the RA140. The RA140 had some issues and the Rave140 was released to address it (mainly removing adjustment of a set screw needed to properly seat the trigger in the lower).

Between the Timney and the Rave140, the Rave140 wins hands down in terms of feel. Although, 1 of 2 of my Rave140 triggers has begun to develop some creep. I think the fixed set screw may have begun to loosen up on me.

All in all I think I will be avoiding most drop in triggers in the future. With great options from Larue and a few others, why bother?

You may have just gotten the best advice on which drop in to get for a PCC...none.

That said, I would imagine if the clown were using a delayed blowback mechanism, it would be much easier on the trigger.

I was under the impression that drop-ins were preferable for PCCs, at least the ones made for such duty. Am I to be stuck with a basic mil-spec AR trigger group? Hmm...

I have a couple MBTs myself and love them.
