Anyone with hands on experience with this one? It will be my first PCP. I've been shooting a Stoeger in .22 for years. After tons of pellet types, I've gotten it close to being somewhat accurate..lol. It still likes to lob flyers every now and then...I'm pretty excited to get this one in. I've watched about every video I can find on it. It looks pretty impressive for $300. I will post up when I get it in hand and get an optic on it.

Personally I'm staying away from the Chinese guns. I had one of the original Nova Vista guns and while it did have a bunch of features the trigger was a real weak point. All the smoothing and tweaking I could do and still unable to get it light enough.

Thank you for the response. I'm hoping for the best...the reviews I've watched and rewatched show it having a light trigger...I know its hard to trust reviews since most of the guys get kick backs, free merch...etc...guess I will see...seeing as I have nothing to compare it to and I'm not getting any benefits other than I lighter wallet...I will let you know honestly how it performs.

I saw that in the "reviews" also. Gotta take those with a grain of salt.
I've seen one guy on another forum that has one. Apparently his trigger started in the 3lb range and he adjusted it down to 2lbs. That's at least double what I like. My MRod in in the 12oz range

I wouldn't expect a great trigger for $299. You may be able to work it, and someone on the net may have already but I don't think you will get lighter than 2 pounds. I'm like BigTinBoat in that I have mine set at 12-14 oz.

Any reason you don't look at the Benjamin Fortitude? I think you will find they have better support and more after market mods. It is in the price range you are looking at.

They didn't spam my emails enough...LOL...I saw this rifle numerous times from Airgun Depot and Pyramid Air...then watched a lot of videos and reviews...I haven't found any saying to stay away from it....so I went with it...

Did you end up getting this? I'm in the same boat you were and am considering it. $300 regulated sounds amazing compared to what else is out there. From what I've read air gun prices have been falling for a decade. This might be the new high-end/low-end gun.

I'm new to air guns and looking for my first PCP. I played paintball for years and reloaded firearms ammo for years so I feel comfortable with the mechanics. I'm honestly surprised at how primitive air gun tech is. We had electronic triggers firing 17 regulated rounds a second in the early 2000s for $300. I guess the market for air rifles isn't big enough to motive R&D but still, can't you just steal from paintball?

I'm torn. I've pre-ordered the new Hatsan flashpup at pyramid but can't stop looking at the Avenger. It's absolutely a fashion over function decision. That FlashPup stock looks so cool I'm a sucker for short rifles. The new version has a side lever which is a big deal to me. I really like the feel of side levers.

However it's unregulated and even if I threw a hundred dollars at a regulator it's still wouldn't have the dual gauges and adjustability of the Avenger.

The adjustability is what makes the Avenger so attractive to me. I'm a nerd and the Avenger is a tuners dream. You have easy external adjustments for both the output pressure of the regulator and the hammer spring tension. It was a feat of engineering to make that possible.

Hatsan waited a year to release a bullpup version of The Flash. Maybe Air Arms will do the same with the Avenger.

Well, it finally arrived....Airgun Depot kept me updated along the way....they emailed me Thursday to say it was in stock, but need a re-authorization to bill the card, as it had been over 30 days....It arrived this afternoon. I mounted a bi-pod and and a scope....now to read the manual and watch some videos on adjusting it. I've never used a PCP rifle. I remember watching a video where a guy only filled it to about half it's total pressure and was getting 50 shots at 850fps....since I'm hand pumping....that sounds like a good deal. It definitely feels like a budget rifle....I knew that already though....adding the bipod and scope give it a more substantial feel. Hoping to get some air into it and some shots tomorrow.

Seems I can't....only options are asking me for a url.....maybe I'm not active enough....or illiterate when it comes to this forum...I put a UTG 4-16x50 scope on it...the wife said "Really"....because of it's size...not because of the brand....I started pumping it up with a hand pump...within a 5 strokes...the oil blew out of the gauge on the pump....I checked to make sure it was just the gauge and wasn't going into the pump...I got up to 1600 psi...and it seems to not be climbing higher....crap pump I'm guessing...I may remove the gauge and plug it....then rely on the gauge on the rifle....I also have a buddy that has a quality hand pump he uses for his benjamin...I may see about borrowing it...I'd had to get shrapnel from forcing the cheap pump I purchased...

You need to do some research about balancing the power and number of shots. It takes some time to understand it all but in the end, you will wind up with a balance shot string.
Pyramid Air has a forum that has all the information on it.

Forgot to mention... in a phone browser most of those icons don't appear unless you rotate the phone to horizontal ('landscape' mode).

I got it pumped up to 2100psi before the pump died on me. I opted for a cheap pump through Walmart online....and it looks identical to all of the others...the air venturi brand included....identical...same parts kit..etc...just missing the air venturi sticker...anyway...I would pump for about 100 strokes or so and then stop...once it hit 2100, now there is zero resistance and it sounds like air is just flowing out of every opening...I did manage 6 shots to make sure I was on paper with the scope...yowzers...this puppy is slinging the pellets. No, no chronograph yet...but compared to my stoeger break barrel, also in .22...well, not really a fair comparison...The trigger and side lever are amazing...I will wait till I get a compressor to really attempt to dial it in. Since I added air, and can't back the regulator down, without emptying it...I will wait. I believe the stock setting is around 2600psi...and supposedly slinging the pellets in the 950/960 fps range. Never having that much power, I'm not sure if I really need it to dispatch the occasional tree rat and punch paper....I have a limited yard to really test the range out...(35-40 yards)...but I'm eager to see how accurate I get within those confines...I will pass the time with more internetting until the compressor arrives.
