ACLU was involved in the South Dakota Legal Alien prohibition suit as well. Here's to hoping Philly gets slapped hard on this one.

Any wagers this never sees a Jury and is settled quickly??

I would hope someone like Mark would be more interested in setting a legal precedent, but hitting the city in the wallet might be better remembered... after all, Philadelpia police have a long and storied tradition of ignoring the law.

This one line sums up the ignorance: "Someone who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon should not only be aware of that, but should also go the extra length to cooperate with law enforcement."

It's strange that the onus has to go on the individual 'to go the extra length' to exercise A RIGHT guaranteed by the US Constitution and state law rather than by the a law enforcement officers who has sworn an oath to support and defend that constitution and state. No citizen should have to go to extra lengths to exercise a constitutional right. For a government agency to state such reflects what is wrong with our country now. RIGHTS are not PRIVILEGES and should not be treated as such, PERIOD!

The additional training that should be required is that the police and political leadership need training in constitutional law.

    Even the DA is "misinformed".

Fiorino has a permit to carry an unconcealed weapon

"Philadelphia police officers on a daily basis are often confronted with extremely dangerous situations involving guns," Williams said in a statement at the time. "Someone who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon should not only be aware of that, but should also go the extra length to cooperate with law enforcement."

The department conceded that some officers were misinformed on the law concerning unconcealed weapons, and pledged to retrain them
