Not that I know of...I picked up a few 22 rifles in PA pretty recent with no issues. None at Walmart though.

Wally World is not in the business of hiring legal experts on out-of-state gun law. Translation: You spoke to a doofus not shy about letting the world know.

Not illegal but against Walmart policy. WV Walmart's wont sell to MD residents either. Easier for them to just say no than train the employee's on the laws of MD. Just another repercussion of MOM's laws. Expect to see this more and more.

Not just MOM. MD Walmart won't sell to out of staters. I was in Hagerstown Walmart as they were denying a shotgun sale to a man from NY.

I thought federal law was long guns could be sold to residents of neighboring states.
the Wal-Mart in question for me - was in PA, i am a MD resident, which is a neighboring state..
so i guess they have the right to deny federal law....

It's a May vs Shall thing. They don't have to sell you anything.

I just found out that Walmart is going to start doing background checks on all employees involved in the sale of firearms and ammo. Personally I think this is something they should have done a good while ago.

    Sgt Preston here...

"ask the guy behind the counter if they sold to MD residents"

Why did you ask that question..?

I have NEVER been asked for ID when I bought ammo at ANY WalMart...

In the future, just ask for the ammo, pay for it & leave...
