Not sure if I agree with allowing crossbows on turkeys. OK. I'm sure. Bad idea.

Turkeys can get off the ground and fly their asses off for long distances. Even with a bolt stuck in them. This would lead to the total absence of a blood trail. The hunter would never find the wounded bird.

Crossbow for bear is fine. Bears can't fly. Unless they're coconut carrying bears that migrated from Africa.

As long as its a high enough FPS combined with the right style of broad head I don't see it being a problem. The crossbow I have shoots 400gr bolts at 365fps. I don't envision a Turkey flying away from that hit.

Just read the bill and am more confused now than before, are they allowing crossbow for use on deer, turkey, and bear during regular seasons? For example, deer during archery season or do you have to get a permit for a disabled permit to use a crossbow?

Crossbow is currently allowed for Archery, and Bear season. It looks like they are opening up turkey season to crossbows in PA.
