I moonlight at a MDS IP. On Black Friday we sold both of our AR's, and a few pistols. The hot item was HD shotguns- they were flying off the shelves.
Every single NICS check was delayed. Most went through in a few hours, but we had ZERO proceeds on Black Friday. To me, that screams that NICS was overloaded.

Heard on the news this morning they processed 186,000 on Black Friday

IMO I think it’s faster to get all the parts for a build by going the complete upper route instead of all individual pieces.

And if you buy a complete upper, you can't do any of the good stuff to it, if you were going to be building it from pieces. Like lapping the upper, torquing the barrel nut just right, bedding the barrel....

I have found this hobby to be an inexpensive one.
    Cheaper then drinking
    Cheaper then drugs
    Cheaper then whoring

I find life to be good. One purchase at a time.

It is a hobby which retains its value. When you sell your gun, you get most of its value back or make a profit.

For some reason I feel a need for a Marlin Model 60 in S.S.
Do not need it,, just got a bone for one.

Today's Marlin 60's are not the 60's of old. I've got one of the newer ones (< 20 years old) in S.S. My Marlin 60 is a temperamental beast that's very ammo-sensitive. I think its problem is in the springs. Let's just say that my go to 22 semi-auto is my 10/22.

It is all relative, you just aren't shooting enough yet, or haven't been collecting long enough, or don't have a big enough ammo stash. But don't worry the bad influencers on MDS will correct those things in time.
