The stupid is really strong with this one:

    http://smnewsnet.com/archives/26607...-with-violations-dumping-deer-on-public-road/

So you go out hunting deer out of season with your home-made suppressed rifle in a shotgun county and then you end up leaving a butchered carcass in the middle of the main throughfare in town . What made you think nobody would notice ?

But the deputy noticed a rifle with a home-made noise suppressor attached on the backseat of a car parked in the front yard.

Definitely not dealing with rocket scientists.

Does it bother anyone else that these criminals are called "hunters"? Folks and actions like this give hunters a bad name. I also wonder if the penalty of losing ones hunting privileges will really make a difference. They already disregard any rules and regulations set by the state so telling them they "are not allowed the privilege to hunt legally" will most likely be a waste of time. They are poachers, not hunters. As for the suppressor, I would love to see the ATF make an example of all three of them with some real jail time.

They are referring to Scotland, in St. Mary's County, Maryland. It is a small town in the Southern end of the county, not far from Ridge.

That's a shame, but I wonder about the shooter's economic status. Seems like maybe they have been doing this to feed the family. Not making excuses for illegal hunting, but when your family is hungry, you may do some things that you're not proud of.

If they were doing it for the meat.

They would not be dumping the carcass along the only main highway, everything would be used up.

Hell, that "town" is so small you don't even know you went though it until you find yourself looking at the Pt. Lookout lighthouse. :lol2:

Not in any defense of these inbreds, but shouldn't they be old enough to STFU and not continue to incriminate themselves in another six or seven additional charges ?

Life is hard, but it's much harder when stupid rules your life.

You're right. Won't make a difference they'll find a way to go hunting or some other deviant behavior. Wonder if either lost their license. Bet they'd be on the road.

Some states take all the tools used during poaching including your gun and your car or snowmobile. It would probably have a more lasting effect than toothless threats of imprisonment. Heck, we dont even lock up people who commit violent crimes against the person, do we really think some guy is going to get hard time for not filling out the right paperwork to whack some bambis ?

What makes this so dumb is that with the extended season in SoMD and the generous bag limits, they should have had the opportunity to get plenty of meat for the freezer the legal way. This is not like some states where you get 1 doe every other year in a lottery.
