    Hey
Anyone out there near the Poolesville area who fixes 4-stroke dirt-bikes, It has been sitting in a garage and now it will not start.

    Thanks

Drain the old gas. Flush the carb with carb cleaner. Add fresh gas with double concentrated SeaFoam. Use starting fluid to get started and let run for a few minutes and you should be fine. Does anyone know which end of a screwdriver to use anymore?

at bottom of carb (if not FI) should be a screw or bolt you can loosen to drain the float bowl. that's worked for me on my 2002 crf450r a couple of times.

i generally turn off the gas petcock and let it run for a bit at the end of my riding day so that a bunch of gas isn't sitting in and gumming up the carb for extended periods of time.

What year bike? I am guessing its not current year since its been sitting so I assume it has a carb.

Drain gas out of tank and carb
    Inspect gas tank for debris
Remove float boal on bottom of carb to expose main jet and pilot jet
Remove both jets and inspect for obstructions
Use compressed air and or brake cleaner to clean jet passage ways
    Clean float bowl
Inspect carb slide for residue and clean
Reassemble machine, add new gas and enjoy

If you do this and it still wont start chances are your valves need adjusting. Without more info as to condition of bike thats the best I can do.

ETA: If you are not confident in your mechanical abilities, let someone who is do the work.

Agree. If it sat for more then few months without fuel stabilizer.
Dump the gas, clean fuel system along with fuel filter change.
Chances are if it ran when put away but not now. Bad gas is problem.
