    1 1/8 oz @ 1145 fps , for gas operated semiauto if that makes a difference .( yes I know 1oz and 24gram are more common now , but I'm looking for 1 1/8oz on purpose ) .

Will be looking at Chantilly Saturday , and availability may be spotty , so I'm looking for a medium length list of options . At least semi- common load data . I don't obsess over " clean burning " , so classic powders ok . If also useful as fast pistol powder would be a bonus , but not a priority .

Give me a half-dozen or so to look for please .

Great , keep them coming . The first off the top of my head was Red Dot , good to see I was on right tracks .

I was using Red Dot for loads in that range, but they were in an o/u so I can't comment on gas gun cycling. It has a ton of load data available though.

Red Dot or Green Dot for 1 1/8 oz always works for my daughter’s Beretta A400 Excel. For 1 oz loads on my O/U, i use Clays.

I shot an 1100 for years both in trap, skeet and sporting clays. After Winchester did away with AA452, I switched to Red Dot and never looked back. Promo is supposedly the same thing but cheaper. Anyway, you can't go wrong with Red Dot in a 12 gage for 7/8 to 11/8 oz loads.

IMR 700x is one powder that hasn’t been mentioned that’s extremely popular among actual Trapshooters. I liked Clays and Red Dot better myself.

I haven’t shot 12 ga in years. Just no need for it when shooting Skeet. Even the trap guys are shooting less 1 1/8 nowadays. Years of heavy trap loads have caused them to start flinching. That’s why so many of the old timer trap guys have to shoot release triggers. For anyone that’s never heard of a release trigger. It’s a trigger that fires when it’s released. It’s set when it’s pulled. The owner has to mark the gun that it’s a release and they are supposed to advise the referee they’re using a release trigger too. Sorry for the thread derail. Good luck finding powder.

I have a finiky new Browning A5 and it does great with Clays. It works with 1 and 1 1/8 oz loads.

Good News - I found load data for exactly what I was looking to do using ADI AS30N ( Clays in Australian ).

Bad News - This will probably jinx me to not be able to find any .

I am late to the party, but I have been using Hodgdon Clays for the past 15+ years now for my 1 1/8 oz 12 gauge loads. Pushing them anywhere from 1,090 to 1,300 fps. When I started shooting trap in the 90's, I was using Red Dot because that was the only thing I knew from dad. I've also used IMR 700x, but am not as much a fan of it as I am of Clays.

    Hope you can find powder.

Used 700x for years, use Clays now. One thing to consider in a semi is 700x is dirtier.
Didn't care since I shoot an O/U most of the time, but I do have 3 Browning Gold semis and they Eat Clays reloads without an issue.

I used Red Dot when I reloaded 12GA for trap shooting. No complaints here. Been years since I've done it though (reloading and trap shooting).

    ^^^^^^ GREAT post.

I used AA-473 and AA-452 for a long time. Good powder, but, patterns weren't 'that great' out of my 1100.

I was at SCSC, shooting Trap one Sunday, and one of the 'regulars' walked over and handed me a box of shells.
I'll never forget this. He said, "Here. Try these. They're safe. IF anything happens to your gun, I'll replace it."

My scores/hits on the 16 line, jumped IMMEDIATELY from 16-17 to 23-24 using those shells.

Red Dot. #30 MEC bushing, slightly modified to consistently throw 18.0 grains. (A friend is using a #31 bushing to get 18 gr.)
Claybuster wads (WAA12 'white' replacement wads)
    1-1/8 oz MEC chargebar.
    #7-1/2 chilled shot.
Winchester AA (Old AA hulls), Peter's Blue Magic hulls. Remington STS hulls. The old "Mohawk" hulls. It made no difference which hulls I use. They shoot GREAT!

Patterns are fantastic out of my 1100 and a good friend's 11-87.

With the exception of hunting Turkey, that load is what I use for everything I hunt, only changing shot size, depending on the game.
