The cornish cross grow out quick so I wont be feeding them for too long.

I can tell you from personal experience you are in for an eye opener. I've raised Cornish before and even though they reach full maturity at only 8 weeks 30 birds ate 500 lbs of feed in that time. My smaller hens were 8-9 lbs live weight. The largest rooster I butchered was 12.5 lbs

    Same with garden.

If you have stuff, you’re vulnerable.

The more that folks want stuff, the harder you’ll have to be to defend what you’ve got.

Solo is NG. There’s strength in numbers. No loads unwelcome.

Funny how various threat/outcome scenarios almost all demand some degree of character, competence and commitment.

Those things are today in short supply. Perhaps a hint as to how we got on the path we are on…

    Agree, sir.

Amazon had a sale so I got 3 15 pound bags of the fancy sushi rice. I love this stuff.

I have about 200 pounds of rice now, I won’t die from lack of carbs

Freeze it for a few weeks then it will last forever.

I always thought that then I read something that said don't do that because when it thaws you can get condensation in the bag and then mold.

Alphabrew you eat that rice like regular rice? Is it really sticky?

Yes, I eat it like regular rice. I have not found it to be too sticky. I eat about a cup and half of rice a day, I prefer the sushi kind. But normally I eat the Wegmans long grain white rice.

*****Aren't you concerned you will become grotesquely fat from eating all of those carbs!

(I eat a lot of rice too...btw. Love the stuff.)

I have 10 year old rice that shows no sign of that.

Any condensation would be on the outside of the bag coming from the freezer.

    Rice = feedstock for humans.

    Must remember that.

I picked up another 20lb sack of rice and about 20 New York strips from Costco today. And a couple #10 cans of various veggies (not necessarily prepper stuff....we'll crush a #10 can of corn or green beans as a side for dinner).

Im new to this forum but I will chime in. Guy from North Carolina here. Site recommended by a forum member.

Bought a couple of life straws and 50 pounds of rice. Getting real skittish about the state of things in the world right now.

Two cases of wine. One of the most awesome things about prepping is you can justify almost anything as a prep.

I'm buying 1.75ml of booze from the Exchamge as a hedge on increasing prices.
