I was going to send it to this guy in Ohio, but his asking price seemed kind of expensive. I don't know, I haven't gotten any other quotes though.

    He wanted $565 altogether:

    $265 for the conversion
    $200 to refinish it
$100 to file the Form 2 to turn it into an SBR

And then I still have to figure out who in Maryland will allow me to transfer it back through them on a Form 4.

Is there somebody in Maryland who knows what they're doing with this kind of thing?

    Also this.

If they can't do it....you don't need it.

Not only do they do good work but they also seem to know Maryland laws very well and won't let you do something illegal, even by accident.

I just sent them an e-mail to see if they can do it or not. I'm also following up with the Ohio guy to see if it's completely necessary for them to do all of the extra ATF transferring mess if I just complete a Form 1 before I send it, rather than having them create the SBR on a Form 2 and then sending it back to my Class 3 so I can pay an additional $200 stamp+$150 transfer fee and wait a year to get my own damn gun back. It just seems like a really crappy deal.
