SoMD guys - yellow perch running yet?

Anyone heard or have any reports from Allens Fresh yet? It's almost time.

Today's rain will probably get the water temps up to 39f in the headwaters, and that'll get things going.

I'm predicting a sick day this week!

Few things finer than freshly fried perch. I used to pull alot of them from the waters around Taylor's Island when I was a kid.

They've been crushing them on the Susky, and a lot of smaller places in central AA county.

There is a place on Rute 40 west of Aberdeen that people have been fishing for the last couple weeks. People are gigging in the deep water off Havre de Grace also.

I think the Magothy (all the western shore rivers) is a closed-fishery for yellow perch, though...

Sucks. I remember going to Severn Run or the South River headwaters at St. Stephens Church Rd with my grandfather and catching them back in the early 70's.... Can't do that now...

I thought so too, but EVERY day there's at least a dozen vehicles parked at Beechwood Park off of Magothy Bridge Rd.

Yeah, I think DNR has all their assets and OT budget tied up in chasing rockfish gillnetters at the moment, so those guys are catching a lucky break.

I won't last...

Heard last night that Allen's Fresh was picking up this week. I'll probably be out there Sunday. May get adventurous and take the canoe.
