Here's my latest revolver acquisition, a police trade-in 1972 S&W Model 67 (no dash). I took a chance ordering it sight unseen from Outdoor Sportsmen and I'm really pleased. As I posted in another thread, the grips are original and are stamped with the serial number of the pistol. It was a bit dirty, but a little Mother's polish brightened it up. I've put Pachmayr grips on it for shooting, because the originals are a little uncomfortable for my hand. But the trigger is outstanding and I shoot this better than any other revolver I have.

    Nice pick-up.

I'm like you. Older, K-frame S&W revolvers chambered in 38 Special with 4-inch barrels are wonderful shooters for me. I have a used Model 64 that I adore for much the same reasons.

:party29: Looks like I’m not the only one with a newly acquired Super Blackhawk :thumbsup::thumbsup:

You mentioned newly acquired Super Blackhawks. Thought of mine I bought new. In 1980. A lot of memories, thousands of lead/copper bullets fired through that revolver. Made me realize I still have the first two handguns I ever bought. The Security Six I acquired one year earlier, thousands of rounds through it, too. And the fifth one...MkII 5.5" bull barrel. Where did the time go?

    Oldcarjunkie, nice find.

1963 Colt cobra, Not sure what was below the colt symbol that someone felt the need to try and remove but apparently it was a department gun at some point.

Something sure kept rubbing against the side plate to take the anodizing off. Maybe the inner snap of a holster safety strap? Still...the Cobra is an excellent revolver. When I was a federal officer I often carried a Cobra off-duty.

You might consider getting an archives letter from Colt to see where it was sent.

I think it was a buffer wheel to remove what ever was below it, you can see there is something that was below it here..

The detective special is my all time favorite gun!!! It’s simple, attractive, and a mini Clydesdale. I have 3 now. 2 stamped one not.

I remember being a kid and my dad giving me a canvas bank bag of crappy ammo and a colt. My thumbs would be rubbed raw from pulling the hammer back. He sat and drank beer while i missed cans, plastic bottles, and whatever else i shot at.

We had 5 rules of safety. The first 4 common rules and NEVER shoot glass.

He also would give me a bag if M80s and id come back covered in cow poop. Seriously it’s weird how objects can bring back amazing memories.

Here is one i have been working on, its a k22 outdoorsman, dated between 1931 and 1940. I bought it with the rear sight busted and the sights are pretty much impossible to find as they are smooth and blued. I found a sight off another early pistol to make work/fit. I still have to file down the front of the sight to make it match the pistols line but this is where im at thus far. I shot it this weekend and it worked perfectly. Just to give you a idea of how rare those rear sights are.. i paid 155 for the rear sight that i then filed and drilled the rear hole on to make it work.
