Buckshot is in short supply - the happy times we live in.

Ammojon had some a while ago and I was lucky enough to buy a case from him at a very fair price. Thanks again Brother Jon!

how do you like it? Did you run some through the gun (make/model) and pattern it at different distances? thanks for any info you want to share.

    What makes it better?
    Better than what?
Black Aces has been an innovator in the shotgun industry and I think they made sure they developed a quality shotgun shell that would live up to their customers’ expectations. Plus it’s available for sale! That’s a big plus compared to any other buckshot these days!

Like the easy gal in HS, available is a major plus.

I was just hoping for some detail. I have a lot of buck and slugs on hand.

It’s a foolish man that doesn't evaluate every opportunity presented. Said evaluation always better with data/details.

Not too short of a supply Lol. There’s 100 rounds of the good stuff included with my new Shockwave in the classifieds. :D

I’m planning on taking a box or two up to the range to review it. I’ll post up some comments/pics.

I am interested to see how they do. I got some of the Federal LE buckshot, and it patterns well, but is low recoil, so dedicated to the pump guns. I have other buckshot for semi automatics, but doesn't pattern nearly as well.

I stopped down and bought a couple boxes today. They are really nice looking shells. I will try to pattern them out of my autoloader once the hurricane passes, and temps aren't 100 degrees on the weekend.

That's more FPS than I'll ever need. Plus no info on whether or not the shot is plated. Glad I have a healthy supply of Federal FC.

Just got my case about an hour ago. Heading up to Continental shortly this afternoon to give them a whirl out of the Shockwave. I will post up some pics from 10 and 15 yds (max distance in my house).

    range report

Got back from Continental awhile ago so here goes:
The Black aces ammo is HOT! Nice kick to it - kinda like if Federal LE buckshot was on steroids ;) Maybe coming out of my Shockwave with the shorter barrel makes things worse but its a far cry from shooting Aguila minishells (slugs or 00 Buck). 1425 FPS and high brass makes a huge difference.
I shot targets at 10 and 15 yds. Pretty nice groupings and the wads were not as noticeable at 15 yds. Not alot of "flyer" pellets at 15 yds which I was happy about.
I did take some minishells with me for pattern comparison to the BA ammo at 15 yds. The Aguila mini pellet groupings are definitely not as tight at 15 yds. Shooting the minis felt like a .22LR after shooting a 50 BMG. :D
I don't think anyone would be continuing in your general direction if they got hit by one of the BA rounds.
Check out the pics and let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
    Best,
    Jim
    Pics in order below:
    My Shockwave

    Single BA shot at 10yds

5 BA shells at 10 yds

5 BA shells at 15 yds

5 Aguila mini Buckshot and 1 Fed LE Tactical OO Buck (low brass controlled flight wad) at 15 yds
