No response from the rimfire group so i thought i would ask here. Old win mod 75 with scope blocks. Would like to scope it and shoot it. Any suggestions re scope and whatever else i would need. Need not be period (this rifle is prob late 40s).

For style a Unertl would be my first thought but picture would help.

-Unertl type would be easiest to mount, assuming you have scope blocks mounted. The downside is cost. Unertl, Lyman TargetSpot, Litschert, etc are not inexpensive. If that's beyond your comfort zone or budget there are options. For instance I scrounged a vintage Marlin branded scope that mounts up to the same blocks/spacing as the higher grade scopes. If I remember correctly I got this one for around $125.

Many people use this mount to install modern scopes on old rifles. You just clamp it to the rear barrel block.

    EGW mount

Ideally the best way to do it is with the vintage scopes as has been stated but they are expensive, the EGW mounts do work well and allow the use of a modern scope.

I am Op. Someone asked for a pic of my model 75 with scope blocks. Here is. From the serial no. I believe this rifle was made in 1946. I could not find a date on the barrel and the sights that came with this pre owned rifle in 1962 are Lyman. I shot 00s of matches with it, strapped into a 10X shooting jacket.
