What do you do when you have a new rifle and the stain/finish is rubbing off onto my hands. I know today was a hot day and my hands might have been a little sweaty, but should it do that? It is a Rossi Circuit Judge 44 mag. Should I put something on the stock?

i think id give the company a call.
you can wipe it down with denatured alcohol.
or apply a furnature wax with a soft cloth on the stock.

I would suggest putting some kind of coating on it, like polyurethane, linseed oil, or shellac.

    Or did you?:o

Good call. If you put a hard finish on it, like urethane or shellac, it would likely pull or blister. If manufacturer has no answer, I would do the above. After the oil or wax has a couple days to dry, give it a good buffing.

Howard's furniture polish ... It's what I'd try given your issue.

Lots of beeswax. Rub in a coat or two then buff it...indoors. Let it set up. I think you'll like the results.
