I've been trying to get in touch with some other MDS members to see what would work for a build party date this spring. I'll make a thread soon with more information as I figure it out.

You can learn so much by just attending an AK build party and there will be plenty of people at hand to help less experienced builders.

    Looking forward to it.

I learned so much from my first two with you guys. A great group to spend a day with.

Finally making process. Front and rear trunnions freed from their scrap host and mocked up in their new home.

Now I just have to get those damned press pins out of the sight blocks and manifold.

punch and BFH usually makes quick work of those pins

Yeah, that's what A.F. told me, but with what I have at home those pins didn't budge any.

I'll take them into work in the morning and see how they like a 20-ton shop press. :D

Haven't been able to make any headway with some items, so this projects back-burner status is pending.

Pressing the cut chunk of barrel out of the rear sight block, and getting the gas block/manifold pins out.

Still have to finish drilling the receiver too, but baby steps for now...

I had difficulty with the same kit you got now that I think about it. Pretty sure there was a little heat involved while under the press to get them out
