Just out of curiosity... did you piss her off recently? :-)

Lol, no. She read somewhere that Swedish PhD students get a sword and top hat when they graduate. Since that's long past, I promised her a sword when she gets tenure at her university. Being walking dead fans, she asked for a katana that one of the lead characters uses.

I don't know if there are any Conan fans out there...

Sorry about all the grease, I have had them is storage and I haven't had the time to polish them up properly. They are high carbon steel and official movie replicas.

As long as there is "only one" in your collection.

I have been thinking about a Japanese sword myself, almost pushed the button on one with NBTHK Hozon certification under $2.5k...……...should have bought it but I just don't know enough.

In the interim I have ask the Kailash what it would take to make one of these. It was on their custom page, looks somewhat handy for close quarters home defense.

Here is a visual comparison of the Ryan and Windlass Conan Atlantean swords. I am not making any claims to preference or quality. This is just for information sharing and fun. I would be happy to answer any question or post more requested pictures. Please keep in mind that I am not an expert.

Please forgive the poor quality cell phone pictures and all the grease on the blades. These are not meant to be glamour shots. LOL Enjoy!

    Not for sale.

I also asked. Forgot the price. Like $265 or something with mirror finish

I would not call that Damascus. Folding only one type of steel then using acid etching to bring out grain is not true pattern welding (I knew the late Bill Moran). Supposed to be a combo of high and low carbon steel folded. I have one that is definitely Chinese. Supposedly 200 layers which would be folded around 8 times (2 to the 8th power) but doesn't look like that many to me. I have pattern-welded knives that show more grain that it does. I don't do any physical cutting with it, as it just looks pretty. I have a replica Viking blade that I do sometimes use for cutting.

Scorpion Sword and Knife, Super Predator Knife. It is loosely based on the knife Billy used in the movie Predator.
It's 1095 carbon steel and weighs about 2 lbs.
