Believe it or not, the "El Diablo" is a legal deer hunting muzzleloader, when you use a slug :toothless

When you think about it, it's probably fairly soft shooting. Hell, 90% of the powder will ignite outside the muzzle. Hell of a fireball though.

Read the factory sugguested loading , and watch the linked ( at mfg website) video with extensive chrono testing .

Factory sugguested load is 40gr FFG w/ 1/2 oz shot . Recoil is minimal , velocity is slower than spit , under 300fps .

In the video , loads of up to 125grs of powder do get some recoil .

If I had one, and wished a social loading , the sweet spot is probably Round Ball , with 50gr FFFG , for 566fps .

My other thought - This would be a lot more worthwhile with 8 or 10in bbl than 6in .

I want to CCW (in an enlighted state of course) and pull it if I'm ever robbed. I may even carry a roll of toilet paper to throw him afterwards.

See the jump-cut? I bet the first effort, the gun flew out of his hands! Lol

    No , an actual Blunderbuss would be practical by comparison . ( 12- 16in bbl, and a stock ). The Howda pistol introduced a few years ago would be much closer to useful . ( SxS , 12in bbl, either 20ga x 20ga, or 20ga x .50 or .50 x .50)

Or a Kathleen DuMais special .
