If you boogered up machining an 80% AR-15 lower, (I'm sorry to hear that), I may be able to use it. One "must have" is an intact magwell. I'll be using it to help me load a Magpul D-60 AR-15 drum mag. I'll grip the fire control group area of the lower in a bench vise and insert and lock the drum...
So i got end mill bits and started the attempt to get the pockets milled out with my cheapie 8in Drill Press and it is not going well.
I'm not attempting lateral milling b/c i have no x - y just a simple vise and i don't think the drill would survive it.

New guy here, so please excuse me if this question has been answered many times before. I have two questions for you guys that I'm hoping you will be able to answer:
1. Is it legal to build 3d printed lowers for AR's and pistols?
2. Is it still legal to buy and finish 80% AR lowers?
Just curious what others have done to identify completed 80% lowers since there is no serial number in which to ID it if ever stolen.
Are you using your initials, name, DOB, etc.? Also where is the most popular spot to engrave the lower? Magwell? Somewhere else?
