I know the difference in the two. I came across some headstamped .223 brass but I load for .556 . anyone see an issue with me loading the brass for .556?

Zero. Load it up and shoot it.

All headstamps will have variances in case weight. If loading for precision, or near the top of book charge weights, sort by headstamp (at a minimum) first.

I have never seen a set of '556 dies' so I suspect if you are loading and resizing brass, you are actually loading 223 anyway. As mentioned, other than the actual water capacity of various case mfrs, it really does not matter.

Just make sure that if you are loading to 5.56 pressures that you do not shoot them in a .223 marked barrel.
The cases are identical, the main difference is chamber free bore with 5.56 being about twice as long as .223.
