Made me look , curious about C 45 steel .

It's a primarily UK designation . The specs allow a fair amount of chemical variation , but essentially think 1045 , with small amounts of Manganese, Nickel , and Chrome added .

* To Me * , I'm an old school carbon steel guy generally , and I'd like to see how the small additives effect it .
