    Hey all,

Anne Arundel Fish and Game regularly hosts "Army L" matches, which are bullseye pistol matches. There's one happening this Saturday! Show up, see if you like it, and have fun with some awesome, welcoming bullseye pistol shooters.

The course of fire for each match is:
    - 3x (10 rounds in 5 minutes) "Slow fire"
    - 6x (5 rounds in 20 seconds) "Timed fire"
    - 6x (5 rounds in 10 seconds) "Rapid fire
    (Total: 90 shots)

All of the shots are fired at B-22 targets at 25 yards. Here is some more information from the organizer:

The AAF&G Precision Pistol Program will hold an Army L Target informal 1800 match on Saturday, August 27th, 2022. This will be the 235th Army L Match and it is open to the public.

First round downrange will be at 9:00 a.m. sharp. The first aggregate will be for the .22 pistol only. The second aggregate, for any center-fire pistol, will begin following completion of the first aggregate (approximately 10:45 a.m.). You may shoot a .22 pistol for the second aggregate as well. In that case, your best .22 score will be used for scoring, handicapping, and cash awards to be presented at the April 2022 Army L match.

The Army L target course of fire is shot from 25yds on a target with an X ring twice as big as an NRA conventional target 10 ring. NRA unclassified shooters may use a two hand hold for increased stability. Though the commands will be the same as an NRA tournament, this is a fun match with prizes as follows:

    1. For the .22 match, prizes will be awarded for the prior month’s Army L {July 2022} and are strictly handicapped. Awards will be given for First, Second, and Third place for the top handicapped scores. You have to be present to collect your prize.

    2. For the Center Fire (2nd match), prizes will be awarded on the day of the match. Using the Modified Lewis System, the top two shooters in each group of five shooters, from the ranked scores, will be awarded cash prizes. This means you do not have to be a top shooter to get an award.

The cost is $7.00 for each gun ($5.00 for paid up Saturday League members) per aggregate (exact change is appreciated). To make sure a shooting position is available, and to assist in setting up, please be at the range at least 30 to 45 minutes early. If you are a first-time shooter or non-member, please let me know as you will be required to sign a waiver prior to shooting.
