These people state "FFL is not required" in their Gunbroker ad, plus I have a conversation with them about the Pietta 1858 BP pistol and they say nothing about an FFL.

    Factory New Condition
    FFL is not required

Today they email me and say they have my money but need an FFL. I tell them we don't need one in Maryland . He says their policy is they send it to an FFL.

I say "send me back my Money Order."

I think the assholes sold the gun to someone local. :mad54:

You should ask them point blank if they sold the gun to someone else.

Guns America Digest had an article just today about this situation. Same thing with RIA Rock Island Auctions. This also happens with sellers excluding Maryland sales and no C&R. Weigh your options, chuck it up, leave appropriate feedback.
If it's a good deal then maybe your FFL holder will do it at a reduced rate being he doesn't have to put it in his book or do the background check.
It really sucks. I look at MDS classifieds with sellers posting strict demands as if you should be grateful for the chance to kiss their moon and hand them top dollars. They can stick it where the sun don't shine.

If you really believe they already sold it, why not call their bluff and get them to send to a local FFL? Then leave crappy feedback about the bait and switch listing...whether you actually get it or not ;)

I stopped using gunbroker for other issues as the sellers had supposed the item in stock. When I placed the order, I received an email from the seller informing me it was sold. I asked why it was not posted as sold they said they had not gotten around to removing the Item as they were busy. I no longer use gunbroker and use gunsinternational https://www.gunsinternational.com/
