Eickhorn knives come with a foil-wrapped cloth, labeled as above, further described as...
For the perfect knife and tool care. Highly developed special oil for cleaning and longlasting protection. Suited for all types of knives and tools. Guarantees reliable functioning and safeguards the value of knives and tools.
Does anyone know what this "highly developed special oil" really is? I assume it would be cheaper to buy a bottle of it and use a paper towel or shop rag, rather than trying to stock up on these branded oil cloths. Also, how often should I use this?

    Thanks, I'll look into Ballistol.

I did actually ask Eickhorn this same question directly at the same time I posted here, and this is their reply: "For that you can use normal weapons oil.We have a dealer in the USA 'youwantit'".
