The caliber for this particular pistol is .380 APC. Looking forward to test-firing it soon, it first needs to be completely stripped, cleaned, and lubed again.

this will help you with the marking on the trigger guard... plus more info.

Your pic looks like St. Stephen's Crown, which according to this reference is the mark for police, civilian, and export models. However, I seem to recall seeing a reference elsewhere that this isn't set in stone. I have one... I love it! I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as well.

Very nice example! The website listed by CasualObserver is a fav of mine. Worth bookmarking as info on Hungarian and other Balkan arms is thin and tough to find.

After finishing my reading, I confirmed it is a pre-war commercial model meant for civilian sale. Oddly enough, there is no sign of any import mark, at all. So how this got to the US is a real question to me...

Lots of "commercial" pistols from pre-war and WW2 were brought back by the GI's.
I'd be more surprised if it DID have import marks :)

Agreed - I've seen several commercial/Hungarian military 37Ms that had wartime "bring back" papers with them, a lot did come home with our troops. Very nice gun!
